Sami Zayn retains his Intercontinental title but Bron Breakker arrives at Money in the Bank

Bron Breakker was called up to the main roster and quickly established himself as a deranged lunatic who preys on everyone, partly because he wasn’t included in the King of the Ring tournament. That path of destruction quickly led him to Sami Zayn and a chance to win his Intercontinental Championship tonight (Sat., July 6, 2024). Money in the bank premium live event at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

It also meant we weren’t going to see a glorified squash match, which is pretty much all we’ve been exposed to from Bron on the main roster. Naturally, Sami went ahead and gave him a damn good match.

It must also be said that Breakker played well in what could be considered the biggest game of his young career so far. For example, he saved Sami from what could have been a very bad fall:

Breakker hit like crazy and fought like crazy for everything, including the finish, when he took a huge kick going for a spear and then went completely down after the Helluva Kick. He couldn’t answer the three count.

Sami Zayn is still your Intercontinental Champion.

But Bron Breakker really did arrive.
