In a series of messages on X on Monday, the CEO of Openai, Sam Altman, said that the popularity of the new generation of company image generation in Chatgpt would cause delays in unpertified products.
“We are taking under the control of things, but you should expect the new versions of OpenAi to be delayed, things to break and so that the service is sometimes slow because we are facing the challenges of capacity,” wrote Altman. “Work so fast, we can really burst things.”
The new OPENAI Image Generation capacity has arrived with a lot of fanfare – and controversy – for its impressive ability to recreate styles like the animation drawn by Studio Ghibli. During the weekend, Altman declared in articles on X that the company “had not been able to catch up” since its launch and that the staff worked late in the evenings and throughout the weekend to “maintain the service”.
In one hour on Monday, Chatgpt added a million new users, altman said in an article. Chatgpt now has 500 million weekly users and 20 million paid subscribers, compared to 300 million users and 15.5 million subscribers at the end of 2024.
In an effort to facilitate its capacity problems, Openai has delayed the publication of the image generation tool for free chatgpt users and the generation of videos temporarily deactivated for new Sora users, the suite of media tools generating AI.
