Sabrina Carpenter made an unexpected and nostalgic move when she brought out Norah Jones during her performance during the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Arts & Music Festival.
The duo performed Jones’ “Don’t Know Why,” with Jones singing and playing piano while Carpenter joined her on vocals.

“When I was little, I loved doing covers of songs, that’s what got me into writing songs,” Carpenter said when introducing Jones, “and my mom, in particular, made me want to write songs. introduced me to this song when I was seven. It’s one of my favorites. I just thought it would be so cool to have Norah Jones come here to Coachella and sing “Don’t Know Why” with me.

The 2024 festival marks Carpenter’s first time performing at the annual festival, something she celebrated frequently with the crowd throughout her set.
During Weekend 1, she debuted her new single, “Espresso”, which she performed again to the audience on Weekend 2, pleasing social media influencer Emma Chamberlain who was holding a sign begging Carpenter to play him.
