Ryan Reynolds revealed the key to marriage to Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds takes a break from his usual trolling to talk about his wife Blake Lively and reveal the secret of their 10-year marriage (often a rarity in Hollywood). In a new People During the interview with Hugh Jackman, the actor compared his longtime friendship with his co-star to his marriage.

“I think the secret sauce to a lasting friendship in Hollywood is not much different from having a partner or marriage,” he explained. “I support you sincerely, all the time. I want you to win. It’s the same way I feel about Blake. As I support her, I know she supports me, and that’s why we’re so connected.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jackman asked Reynolds about his anxiety, which he has previously spoken openly about, and whether being a parent has had an impact on his mental health. Reynolds and his wife Lively share four children: James, 9, Ines, 7, Betty, 4, and a 1-year-old whose name has not yet been revealed. “Oh buddy, you’ve been pretty open with your anxiety issues, and I really commend you for that,” Jackman told Reynolds. “Do you think being a dad makes things better or worse?”

Reynolds responded by saying it improved his mental health because “you focus less on yourself and more on your kids.”

“Now I love that I have anxiety, I love that I have had anxiety. Because when I see my kids experience some of that, which is probably genetic, I know how to deal with it with compassion actually makes them feel seen,” he explained. “I know I can’t just fix this. And I can communicate all of this with them and with them. I’m always grateful for that.”

Another reason the couple’s relationship is so successful is the number one rule of their marriage: they don’t take on projects at the same time. “When Ryan and I got together, we made it a rule to not work at the same time so that we could always prioritize our personal lives,” Lively explained on Substack. More noise. “It takes working really hard when we don’t,” she added. “Just like financial planning and maintaining it, there needs to be a balance.”
