Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State Football loses the offensive coordinator Chip Kelly at the NFL.
He leaves to fill the same position for Las Vegas raiders, according to ESPN reports.
Kelly has spent a season with Buckeyes, helping to direct the program to his ninth national title.
He joined the Ohio State before the 2024 season after leaving his role as a UCLA head coach. Coming to Columbus, Kelly found coach Ryan Day.
Both are from Manchester, New Hampshire. They both attended the central High School Manchester, although Kelly, 61, was 16 more.
The Kelly coach career finally brought him to the University of New Hampshire where, in the midst of a 13-seasons mandate, served as a quarter-arre (1998-2001).
Kelly left New Hampshire before the 2007 season to serve as an offensive coordinator of Oregon. He took over as a Ducks chief coach in 2009 and supervised one of the most successful races in the history of the program.
Kelly left Oregon for the NFL, where he was the head coach of the Eagles (2013-15) and spent a season at the 49ers mark (2016).
He returned to college football in 2018 and was a head coach of the UCLA throughout the 2023 season.
With the departure of Kelly, Ohio State is still working to replace the defensive coordinator Jim Knowles who left for Penn State last month.
The Offensive Line Coach Justin Frye also recently left the same position for the Cardinals of Arizona.
