Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror offers

“Sinners” is about to take a bite from the spring film calendar in 2025.

The ambitious Ryan Coogler Big Swing “Sinners” marks the first original project of the director of “Black Panther”, under the weight of IP, since his feeling of Sundance 2013 “Fruitvale Station” put it on the map. The 38-year-old Mega Talent has experienced an impressive race by both making films “Black Panther” with the Spin-Off Rocky “Creed” (2015), while producing the two suites of this film-all the big blows at the box office. But he wrote the supernatural horror epic of Warner Bros., “sinners”, on April 18, of his own idea, and the first reactions already praise a vision which raises the classic mythology of vampires to metastasing racism underlying south of the middle of the century.

The star of “Black Panther” and “Creed” Michael B. Jordan plays two roles as Twin Brothers Smoke and Stack, each representing their own side of a good and corrupt piece. It was also veterans of the First World War who returned in the 1930s in their hometown of Mississippi from the time of Jim Crow after working for Al Capone in Chicago, where they left a gang war in flames.

But after buying an abandoned Mississippi mill from a white supremacist to set up a music room, they are much more than planned as supernatural events (which we will not spoil!) Throw a planned evening of rejoicing and bluegrass in a bloody and bloody chaos. Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Catone, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Delroy Lindo, Lola Kirke and Saul Williams also lead the cast.

Jim Hemphill d’Indiewire wrote: “Sinnersmovie is a daring explosion, easily one of my favorite studio outings of the last 10 years. I can’t wait to see it in 70 mm in my favorite First Run theater!” – In reference to the next film race in the Vista Theater of Los Angeles.

The editor -in -chief of the next best film, Matt Neglia, wrote: “Sinks are a unique cinematographic experience in its kind of the spirit of Ryan Coogler. What starts as a deep gangster piece soon turns into a painful fight for survival and spiritual freedom against a ruthless clan of vampires. And it’s absolutely great !! “

Wrap Drew Taylor’s senior writer wrote: “Dear Lord, I loved this film. Maybe my favorite film by Ryan Coogler – so scary and thoughtful and emotional and daring. Michael B Jordan is really incredible, but the show is the newcomer Miles Canton. Ludwig’s score is a higher level. What an astonishing achievement. ”

The editor -in -chief of senior craftsmen from Variety Jazz Tangcay wrote that it is “one of the best and sexiest vampires in chandeliers. Miles Caton breathtaking me and Michael B. Jordan is incredible. Ryan Coogler is incredibly talented for giving us this film. One of its best Ludwig Gorasson scores. Don’t miss that! “

The critic Peter Gray wrote: “#Sinners is exactly the articulation of the vampires you expect from Ryan Coogler.

Liam Crowley, by Screen Rant, wrote: “Sinners are the best film of the year (so far). Coogling + Michael B. obtained the sauce at a level that you cannot understand. Each music number made me drop – in particular this onon. original Franchise on his hands. “”

It should be noted that coogulating – working on a budget of $ 90 million, amazing these days for an original horror film – shot “Sinners” with the Autumn Durald Arkapaw cinema on a 65 mm film (using both Ultra Panavision 70 and IMAX 65 mm). She also shot “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” as well as Gia Coppola’s films “The Last Showgirl”, “Mainstream” and “Palo Alto”. The return here, the composer Ludwig Görasson, the composer “Black Panther” Oscar-winning, is back on the Oscar level for a partition as gender crossing as the film itself, which mixes a variety of influences which, sometimes, include the whole story of black music in a single sequence.

How will the “sinners” play for a commercial audience? They will surely show up for a horror film on his head which turns out to be so much more. Warners had a recent race bumpy with visions focused on filmmakers like “Joker: Folie à Deunt” and “Mickey 17” who do not reach, and the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, would have bought replacements for movie leaders Michael de Luca and Pamela Abdy. “Sinners” is the one that these project leaders for the filmmaker adopted and made shepherds. On the author’s side, Warners also “One Battle After Other” by Paul Thomas Anderson in the fall.

“Sinners” opens from Warner Bros. April 18.
