Director Ryan Coogler shows his “eternal gratitude” for the moviegoers who saw his latest film “Sinners” at the theater, helping the supernatural thriller overcome expectations and demanding first place at the box office during his opening weekend.
In a note published on its page X Tuesday, Coogler recognized the effort involved in making a trip to the theater for a film, thanking those who “reserved a goalkeeper and a carpool”, as well as those who “changed their working hours”.
“I want to thank you all those who watched more than once, who recommended the film to others, both in person and on social networks or on your SMS channels,” he wrote. “I had the gift of the opportunity to make a film inspired by my family and my ancestry, but it was always a film that we wanted to make for the public, in theaters.”

Coogler wrote and directed “Sinners”, a horror film following Twin Brothers – both played by the frequent collaborator to coogece Michael B. Jordan – who will face unexpected paranormal visitors after having opened a joint juke, a consumer and catering establishment that celebrates black culture and music in the south, in their Mississippi Homet Homet Homet Homet Homet
The film also features Hailee Steinfeld, Breakout Star Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell and Delroy Lindo, among others.
Friday, “Sinners” was presented on IMAX and Standard Sciens and broke the expectations of the industry when it attracted $ 45.6 million to the national level during its opening weekend, exceeding previous estimates of around 35 million dollars. Globally, the film brought in more than $ 71 million on Tuesday. (“Sinners” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Warner Bros. Discovery is the mother company of CNN.)

The film is based on Coogler’s own ancestry, which he wrote Tuesday “has breathed so much life and goal”, which makes public support for the film much more significant.
He also marked the story as the first time that a film is shot using two different aspect reports (Ultra Panavision 70 and Imax, for film enthusiasts) and the first time that a film was released by combining both.
“Seeing your answer to the film invigorated me and many others who believe in this art form,” added coogulating. “And together, we can perhaps extend the definition of what a blockbuster is, what a horror film is and what an IMAX audience looks like.”
Coogler is best known for directing the three films “Creed”, the famous “Fruitvale Station” and two films “Black Panther” for Marvel, including the sequel nominated at the Oscars.
