Russian troops take up one of the last Ukrainian ancestors in the Kursk region, said the army

Russia’s army said on Tuesday that its forces regained control of one of the last villages in the Kursk region still held by Ukrainian troops.

Ukraine launched a surprise foray into the Kursk region in August, which makes it the largest offensive on the ground against Russia since the Second World War. However, in recent months, a Russian counter-offensive has gradually cut off Ukrainian forces on territorial expanses.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its troops have regained control of the village of Guyevo, located near the Ukrainian border and south of the Southzha regional hub, which the Russian forces released last month.
