Russian strikes leave six million people in Ukraine without electricity

KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine said six million people were left without power on Saturday as it worked overtime to repair critical infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes in recent days and lift the spirits of residents struggling without water or electricity as temperatures drop.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky urged Ukrainians to limit their energy consumption in a video address on Friday evening, saying that if a house or apartment currently has electricity, it may well be without it at any time.
