Piano concert
A Russian-American concert pianist often called “van Cliburn of Today” will perform in concert for the Steinway Society-the Bay on Saturday May 31 in Cupertino. Alexander Yevgenyevich Kobrin will play works by Beethoven, Brahms and Chopin.
Kobrin won the gold medal at Cliburn International Piano Competition 2005 and is currently part of the Faculty of the Eastman School of Music. He is often a member of the jury for international competitions, notably Van Cliburn, Busoni, Hamamatsu, Blüthner and Neuhaus.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the center of visual arts and the show of Anza College, located at 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino. Tickets are $ 53 to $ 78 on https://steinwaysociety.com or 408-300-5635; Students rush to the door cost $ 20. A concert registration will be available on request for 48 hours after release for $ 26.75 per cleaning.
Angel Island Visit
The older adults in the Bay region are organizing a day trip to Angel Island on Thursday, May 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the participants will take the bus to Cupertino before taking a ferry walk for Angel Island, the West Ellis Island, for an easy 4 -thousand walk around the island, which is famous for having the best view of the Bay region. The visit will be stopped at the immigration station hospital, in Fort McDowell, at the Quarry beach and at the reception center. Participants inquire about the Huimen tribe, Spanish explorers, military history of the First World War and II, as well as Chinese and others immigrants who passed during the Chinese exclusion law of 1883.
