“Kyiv and the region, Zytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia have suffered the most combined Russian attacks,” said emergency services, adding that Kyiv had suffered the most.
Zelenskyy, who arrived in South Africa Thursday to meet President Cyril Ramaphosa as part of a wider trip, announced that he would short-circuit and “would return to Ukraine immediately after the meeting with the president of South Africa”.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will hold all the necessary meetings in South Africa to fully inform the leaders of the country’s political and civil society on the situation,” said Zelenskyy.
Russia’s strikes are involved at a time to intensify political pressure for Zelenskyy, while Trump increases the pressure on the Ukrainian chief to accept the proposed peace agreement in the United States, which promotes Moscow.
Trump criticized Zelenskyy on Wednesday for refusing to recognize the control of Russia on Crimea as part of the potential settlement. “These are inflammatory declarations like that of Zelenskyy which makes this war so difficult. He has nothing to boast! ” Said Trump.
In response, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, stressed that the aggressive tactics of Moscow were the real barrier of peace.
“Russian maximalist requests yesterday for Ukraine withdraw from its regions, combined with these brutal strikes, show that Russia, not Ukraine, is the obstacle to peace. Moscow, not kyiv, is the place where pressure should be applied,” said Sybiha on Thursday morning.
