Russell Brand was accused of rape, indecent assault and sexual assault between 1999 and 2005.
The charges relate to four separate women.
The actor and actor was questioned several times by the police since an investigation by the Sunday Times, the dispatches of Times and Channel 4 in September 2023 revealed multiple serious allegations against him.
The 49 -year -old has already denied allegations, calling them “very, very hurtful”.
Metropolitan police said he was alleged as:
- In 1999, a woman was raped in the Bournemouth region.
- In 2001, a woman was attacked in the Westminster region of London.
- In 2004, a woman was raped orally and sexually assaulted in the Westminster region of London.
- Between 2004 and 2005, a woman was sexually assaulted in the Westminster region of London.
Brand was invited to appear before the Westminster Court of First Instance on May 2, but he would be in the United States.
In these situations, when a suspect can be abroad, prosecutors seek to agree on the return of the defendant. If there is no cooperation of a suspect, the authorities then plan to seek extradition.
The superintendent detective of the metropolitan police Andy Furphy, who heads the investigation, said: “Women who have reported continue to receive the support of specially trained officers.
“The MET investigation remains open and the detectives ask anyone who has been assigned by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward and speak with the police. A dedicated team of investigators is available by e-mail at cit@met.police.uk.
