British actor and actor Russell Brand arrived at court on Friday after being charged last month of rape and sexual assault.
London metropolitan police accused the brand, 49, of a rape chief, an indecent chief of assault and an oral rape, as well as two chiefs of sexual assault. The charges relate to four separate women.
The alleged incidents took place between 1999 and 2005. He denied allegations.
The hearing will take place at Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London.
Metropolitan police described Brand as living in southern England when the charges were announced in April. However, the British news agency Pa Media reported that it was now living in the United States.
The detectives began to investigate the actor, who recently repositioned himself as a social commentator, in September 2023, after having received allegations following a joint investigation carried out by three British media – the Sunday Times, the Times and the “dispos” of Channel 4.
According to metropolitan police, he allegedly alleged that a woman was raped in 1999 in Bournemouth, in the south of England; A woman was attacked indecently in the Westminster region of London in 2001; A woman was raped orally and sexually assaulted in Westminster in 2004; And a woman was sexually assaulted between 2004 and 2005, also in Westminster.
Brand appeared in many Hollywood films and has hosted radio and television shows in the United Kingdom. He was married to the pop star of We Katy Perry between 2010 and 2012.
