Rumor: the premium Samsung Galaxy Watch X will be revealed at the end of June with better battery life

We’ve heard rumors that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series will have three versions with a new premium tier dubbed “Ultra.” But that might not be the brand Samsung opted for – the high-end watch could instead be called “Samsung Galaxy Watch X”.

That’s not all: the watch will directly compete with the Apple Watch Ultra series (perhaps that’s why Samsung wanted to move away from the “Watch7 Ultra” name) and diving will be a key factor.

The Galaxy Watch Note that water resistance is given as a pressure rating (which is why you sometimes see it measured in atmospheres), the actual depth you can reach is less than this – 40m (130ft) in the case of the Apple watch (and probably the Samsung watch as well).

Regardless, the X is supposed to have better battery life than its siblings, up to 100 hours (or about 4 days of battery life). For comparison, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic claims up to 40 hours of battery life, the Watch5 Pro (which had a bigger battery) claims up to 80 hours, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 promises 36 hours.

Part of that is likely the new and improved Exynos W1000 (which could be Samsung’s first mainstream 3nm chip), but it looks like the Watch X will also have a bigger battery – at least compared to the Classic. South Korean regulators certified a 578 mAh battery compared to 425 mAh on the Watch6 Classic and 573 mAh on the Watch5 Pro (note: these are nominal capacities).
