Paris St Germain resisted a first storm of Arsenal before submitting their visitors to fight and embarked on the final of the Champions League with a victory measured at 2-1 in the second leg on Wednesday to win a second blow in the European title.
The goals of Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi sealed a triumph in the semi-final 3-1 while a series of vital stops by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma helped keep Arsenal at a distance.
Five years after losing against Bayern Munich in the final, PSG was transformed into a cohesive team unit under the coach Luis Enrique, and they will face Inter Milan on May 31 in Munich after Serie A eliminated Barcelona 7-6 in vintage equality in the other semi-final.
PSG vs inter Milan in the UCL final
PSG and Inter have never met on the European scene and the final of the Champions League of this year will be the first between an Italian and French team since Olympique de Marseille beat AC Milan in 1993.
“It is a very nice emotion. We did an excellent job. The road was hard and slow, and we faced very difficult matches,” said Captain Marquinhos, who suffered embarrassing defeats in the competition with PSG, after Ligue 1, eliminated his third team of Premier League after tidying up after Liverpool and Aston Villa.
“Now we have to get the most out of it and prepare for the final in the best possible way. The path to the final is made, but it’s not over yet.”
PSG rolled up with the punches very early with Donnarumma by making a few world class stops when Arsenal did not take a shiny start before Ruiz gives a huge blow with a thunderous strike, and Hakimi actually winds it in the second half.
Vittinha missed a penalty in the second half, but the French champions have never panicked and there was a feeling of inevitability about their victory even after Bukayo Saka withdrew one back 14 minutes of time.

With Arsenal pushing a route in the competition, Saka has soared a glorious chance on the transverse bar while visitors do not reach a first final of the Champions League since 2006.
“The fact that we have played like that against one of the best teams in Europe gives me so much pride, but I am also so upset, so bored that we did not do it,” said Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta.
Superb backup
Luis Enrique left Ousmane Dembele on the bench after the French striker was returned to training on Monday following a muscle injury suffered in the first leg, while Arsenal deployed Mikel Merino as a fake new.
Arsenal exploded out of the blocks, cutting the first clear chance in three minutes, with the Gray Head of Declan Rice flashing shortly after the right post of Donnarumma.

The Italian goalkeeper was quickly called again in the action, extending to pass the low effort of Gabriel Martinelli before making an amazing and sprawling backup to refuse to Martin Odegaard, whose half-volley on the edge of the region was intended for the lower corner.
Closed unusually for long spells, PSG threatened the break.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia got closer while his curling shot shaken the post, while the teenager desire Doue wasted a gold opportunity, drawing straight on David Raya when he is proper.
Against the game race, PSG struck in the 27th minute. Thomas Parte badly assessed a defensive head of a move, inadvertently passing the ball in the Ruiz path, which took an exquisite touch before taking off a fierce route in front of Raya to send the crowd to the home.
It was the first goal of Spanish in 46 appearances in the Champions League.
“We are in the final, we are in the final,” PSG fans told Boulogne Kop when their team was playing with confidence.
Donnarumma was tested again in the 64th minute and produced a backup to refuse Saka.
PSG had the opportunity to conclude effectively in the 69th minute after the Hakimi shot of Myles Lewis-Skelly allowed Hakimi, but the weak kick of Vietinha allowed Raya to save comfortably.
Hakimi, however, then whispered the ball in front of the Arsenal goalkeeper in the 72nd minute after a two with Dembele, who had just left the bench, to put the result out of doubt.
Saka reduced the deficit four minutes later from a tight angle after the Jakub Kiwior cross withdrew a defender’s deviation, but his superb failure a few minutes later guaranteed PSG the possibility of corresponding to the realization of his Rivals Marseille, who remained the only French team to have won the Champions League.
