Patil struck a 10.4 on his 11th blow and climbed in fourth place. However, it was not counted as the jury excluded that Patil had taken the blow before the chief officer gives the green light. Consequently, Patil fell in the last place of the final of eight years after the abolition of his score of the 11th blow.
The decision put Patil 8 points behind the shooter in 7th position, forcing him to withdraw while he decided not to take the 12th blow.
During the ISSF World Cup in Argentina, which launched the 2025 campaign, Patil had won gold in the 10 m male air rifle and silver in the mixed shooting competition of 10 meters of aerial rifle with Arya Borse.
