A Philadelphia sports fan who launched into a misogynistic tirade against a Green Bay Packers fan in a viral video will never be allowed to attend another Eagles home game.
The ugly scene was captured on cellphone video during the Birds’ NFC wildcard victory Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia.
“The individual will not be permitted to attend future events at Lincoln Financial Field,” a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.
The widely shared footage showed a man wearing an Eagles jacket leaning over, putting his hands over his mouth and verbally insulting the female fan in the row in front of him. This fan didn’t seem to respond to him.
The Eagles won the game 22-10, advancing to face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon.
Online sleuths connected this incriminating fan to a New Jersey management consulting firm that blew the whistle on its employee’s behavior.
“As an organization that has always championed inclusiveness, the conduct displayed was completely unacceptable and directly opposes our company values,” BCT Partners said in a statement. “We have already begun a thorough investigation into an internal personnel matter to determine what action will be taken.”
Philadelphia fans, and Eagles fans in particular, have long enjoyed a bad reputation that they consider exaggerated.
At one point in the late 1990s and early 2000s, an arraignment court was established in the basement of the team’s former home at Veteran Stadium to deal with fans apprehended for drunkenness , brawls and more on fall Sundays.
