The former captain of Manchester United, Roy Keane, made a comforting gesture by visiting a patient fan in the hospital.
The 53 -year -old man took the time of his busy schedule to surprise the patient with dementia Pat O’Sullivan with an unexpected appearance at Mercy Hospital Cork.
This comes after Pat’s family initially contacted Cork’s Red FM to ask their father a video message.
Instead of sending a video, Keane went beyond when he flew to Cork to meet his supporter in person.
Pat’s son Rob O’Sullivan said, “Roy Keane entered my father’s hospital and handed. I have no words.
“I don’t know what I never expected, and it’s honest.

Keane was praised for the gesture “ the nicest ” after his visit to Ireland
“But for him to come and visit, take the time of his schedule, see my father and go back and forth in trading stories.
“You have absolutely no idea (how much it meant). It always looks like a dream.
“When I looked at him, I was impressed. I couldn’t believe he was right in front of me and about to realize my father’s dream.
Rob also added that his father’s dementia has deteriorated since his meeting with Keane, saying: “My father cried twice. He understood that Roy was there. Since I spoke to you for the last time, my father’s speech has really passed.
“The timing was therefore perfect because he and Roy could in fact have a little conversation.
“My father looked at him, looked at him and just couldn’t believe that his hero was sitting next to him.
Meanwhile, the radio station praised Keane for the “nicest gesture”.
