Two boys golf teams from the Bay Area region move to the regional championships in northern Northern California.
The boys’ golf championship in the central section of the coast was challenged on Tuesday at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey, and two local teams have performed sufficiently to secure a place in the regional championships.
Stevenson, based in Pebble Beach, took first place with a team score of 351, but just behind them were Palo Alto (364) and St. Ignatius (367). Under their first three finishes, the two schools of the peninsula qualified for Norcals as a team.
The next four individuals who are not in a qualification team have also obtained a place in the regional, and this quartet included three golfers in the Bay region. It was Kyler Heath of Serra (68, tied for second place in total); Jack Wang de Los Altos (70, T-7) and Rithvik Jayaraman de Gunn (70, T-7).
The individuals who pass thanks to their team ends are Jayden Jewen of Si (66, 1st) and Dylan Wickum (70, T-7); Brian Yu de Palo Alto (71, T-12), Joshua Wang (71), Justun Kim (71), Brendan O’Keefe (74, T-25) and Ryan Chang (77, T-40); If’s Karl Befinga (77), Daniel Doan (77), Alexander Kapulica (77) and Ben Thomson (80, T-56); and Grady McCarter de Paly (84, T-62).
The Norcal Regionals will be held on May 27 at the Berkeley Country Club in El Cerrito.
Championship NCS Division II
The North Coast section organized its division II championships on Monday at the Foxtail Golf Club North in Rohnert Park, and although no East Bay school ended among the three best teams, a group of individual golfers hit its tickets for the Championships in Division I next Monday, where they will have a chance to qualify for a place in Norcals.

Two victories to launder identical in the semi-finals of the East Bay sports league have prepared the field for a long-awaited revenge match between two of the best teams in the Bay region.
