A rose was named after Catherine, princess of Wales, to highlight the healing power of nature.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) said that it had called the flower “pink of Catherine” to raise awareness of the role that spending from time to outside plays to support the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of people.
The Rose Floribunda has coral rose flowers with a scent of Turkish delight and mango.
The product of each sale will go to the Royal Cancer Cancer organization in Marsden. The princess was treated in the hospital in western London for cancer last year.
The Princess of Wales revealed that she was in remission after having a surprise visit to the hospital in January, where she thanked the staff and reassured the cancer patients that there were “light at the end of the tunnel”.
She first revealed her diagnosis in March of last year and underwent a preventive chemotherapy lesson, announcing in September that she had been completed.
Catherine’s rose will have flowers that attract pollinators and prosper in a mixed border, like a hedge, in a large container or in a bed of pink, depending on the RHS.
The clusters can have up to 15 flowers, each flower measuring between 8 and 12 cm, while the plant that supports it can reach approximately 1.2 m high by 90 cm wide.

Clare Matterson, director general of the HRS, said that the flower “would sensitize how nature and gardening can help heal”.
“We know how important this message is because each day we see how access to nature and being outside is vital for our health and our happiness,” she added.
There will be 15,000 Catherine pink available this fall, with other roses becoming available next year.
