The first signature event at the PGA Tour calendar came and disappeared with Rory McILroy capturing victory with a dominant Sunday performance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Of course, McILroy has a reputation (and a story) of not so good performance on Sunday, but it was not a problem this week. His previous story was not in Pebble Beach, which included several bad projections.
He entered the final round by dragging Sepp Straka with a blow and did not play his best through the first nine holes. After shooting a subspture of 35 on the front, he was tied with two other players for the head.
But it was then that McILroy took his game and began to flock to birdies.
As the final group finished the 14th hole, McILroy had opened a practically insurmountable four -stroke advance after hitting a 27 -foot eagle putt at the house.
The third golfer of the third golfer of the world 10 and the hole 12 before this eagle on the 14th, then followed the eagle with another birdie at 15 years old.

For those who hope for the “McILroy fusion”, they were disappointed. The PGA Tour superstar made the peer on the holes 16 and 17 before switching to the 72nd, and final, a hole of the week with a three -stroke advance on the compatriot Shane Lowry.
With the big advance, McILroy chose to play the last hole – the iconic 18th 18th in Pebble Beach – Conservative and made a stress -free peer to finish a nine of five sous, pulling a 66 sous 66 and completing the tournament at – 21.
Although the shooting did not take into account the final results (at least with regard to the winner), we would not hang on not to mention the incredible shot that Cam Davis struck in the last tournament hole. He came from a lie with which many amateur golfers are surely familiar – the roots of a tree – but the result was anything but amateur.
And, before returning our attention to McILroy, we must mention the other crazy blow that Davis struck on Sunday.
The victory represented the third victory of McILroy PGA Tour in the last calendar year, winning twice in 2024 (Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Wells Fargo Championship).

However, McILroy would probably exchange these three victories to win a major tournament for the first time in more than 10 years.
Rory McILroy continues to continue the elusive victory of the major championship
Although he was one of the best golfers in the world in the past 15 years, the big victories have escaped McILroy since he won the PGA championship and the championship opened in 2014.
McILroy won four major titles from 2011-14 but is found in the middle of an epic dry sequence.
Its closest call came to US Open last year, but the Northern Irishman missed two putts inside 5 feet and has bogey three of his last four holes to lose with a blow against Bryson Dechambeau .
McILroy took a few weeks off from golf after this final merger in Pinehurst, but seems to be in great shape before the major season of 2025.
The first in the calendar is the Masters, the only major tournament that McILroy failed to win in his illustrious career.
He finished second in 2022 and came into equality for the 22nd year last year after missing the Cup in 2023.
Scottie Scheffler, the best classified golfer in the world and the title champion of the Masters, is the big favorite to capture another green jacket.
McILroy is the third favorite of bets, which also drags Xander Schauffele.
The 2025 Masters begins on Thursday, April 10.
