Rory McILroy could not have started his first PGA Tour event better in 2025.
In competition at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, McILroy reached the sixth hole of his first round Thursday afternoon.
Playing on the nine at the back at Spyglass Hill, McILroy launched his tee shot at the bottom of the hill and he landed directly in the hole on the 119 yards, par-3 15th. The explosion of the crowd added punctuation for the exciting shooting.
As the TV broadcast of the golf chain said, “no putts required.”
This hole in one quickly gave McILroy an early part of the advance at 3 under the peer for the tournament.
AT&T PEBBLE BEACH PR-AM is McILroy’s first tour of the turn. He participated in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic of the DP World Tour almost two weeks ago, tied in fourth row with Niklas Norgaard.
Previously, McILroy had recorded two aces as a professional in his career. The first took place at the ABU Dhabi HSBC 2015 golf championship on the 15th hole of 177 yards. McILroy made his ace on a rebound with this blow.
More recently, he nailed a hole in one at the 2022 traveler championship. This blow was not as dramatic as the no-liver at Pebble Beach, bouncing on the green about 15 feet from the hole and rolling.
