Ronda Rousey would have loved an opponent like Conor McGregor during her UFC career

Ronda Rousey thinks Conor McGregor is an asset to all his rivals.

The former double-weight champion is known to start arguments with his opponents and he frequently crosses the line with his pre-fight trash talk.

“Notorious” became a divisive figure during his 11 years in the UFC, but he also established himself as the biggest star in the sport’s history.

After becoming a Hall of Famer in the sport, Rousey understands what he brings and insists she would have loved to face someone like him.

The former bantamweight champion feels like McGregor does all the heavy lifting to promote her fights, something she had to do in every fight she had before retiring from MMA in 2016.

“I think he’s a great performer and he plays a great heel,” Rousey said during an exclusive interview with talkSPORT’s MMA YouTube channel.

“I think a lot of other guys in the division have such an asset in him because he will promote the fight, he will be the bad guy.

“You look great in comparison and you make a ton of money for your family.

“I would be so happy to have an opponent like him around – usually my back hurts from fighting all these fights!

“They can show up, be the face of the baby and make a lot of money. Hell yeah! Please come do all the work for me and I will show up and fight.

“For a lot of people who are in the business and don’t like the entertainment aspect, he’s the kind of person who can cover them and still make these fights, which are really exciting in their own right, have a story with it. and make it resonate with the people sitting on the couch.

Despite starring in “Road House” with Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey thinks Jake Gyllenhaal would lose in a fight with fellow actor Tom Hardy.

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021.
