Atlanta – The star of the Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr., called the reaction of the questions manager, Brian Snitker, or his absence, to an incident in the match on Saturday when Jarre Kelenic was thrown to the second goal after not having run hard from the hitting box on a fly ball which, according to Kelenic, would be a circuit stroke.
The ball has traveled the wall of the right field, and Kelenic was thrown to the second goal during the sixth round of a match on the twins of Minnesota. Kelenic remained in the match and Snitker was disdainful of a question on the incident after the victory of the 4-3 brave, acting as if Kelenic had done nothing that guaranteed disciplinary measures.
When Snitker’s game and reaction were mentioned on the social media platform X Sunday morning, Acuña, which is rehabilitated in Florida from May 2024, replied with the message: “If it was me, they would make me get out of the game.”
Acuña could: it was removed after an almost identical incident of an August 2019 match against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The recruit of the year in title of the NL at the time, Acuña was replaced for not having jostled on a fly ball which struck this same brick wall, forcing it to settle for a single.
Acuña’s message on X was deleted before the start of the 6-2 victory completing the Sunday afternoon scan against the Minnesota Twins. After the match, Snitker, who had been informed of the simmer controversy on social networks for several hours, was asked about Acuña’s comment.
“I don’t do social media, n ° 1,” said Snitker, who is 69 years old. “And I heard about it while I was walking towards the canoe. I heard that something was standing, then I entered and they said it was out. I did not speak to (Acuña), so I don’t know.”

Snitker said he was not watching Kelenic’s game as he was going, but once he saw a video on Sunday morning, he “talked about it (Kélenique).”
Kelenic said he had initiated the conversation with Snitker about the game and that no one said anything on Saturday night during or after the match.
“I spoke to him this morning,” said Kelenic. “It’s my action, so I don’t need him to call me. I knew it was bad, and as I said, it was a mistake, I was taken in the moment.
Kelenic did not expect to be caught in a controversy when he arrived on Sunday, but after the tweet of Acuña, he was certainly. After the match, Kelenic was surrounded by journalists from his locker.
“The only thing I have to say is that, as, in this situation, I know better than that,” said Kelenic. “I was in a way taken in the moment. I thought I was enough, of course. No excuse, because each match is big, and in this situation in a tight ball game right there, I must be on the second goal. There is no excuse for that.
“We won this match, thank God, but if they come back and put another race and we end up having to go in extras because of something I have done, like, it is bigger than me. I went, I talked to that, I told him that it was a mistake on my side and that it is something that I can control, and told him that it would not happen.”
After withdrawing Acuña from the game after the incident in August 2019, Snitker said: “He did not run. You have to run. It will not be acceptable here. As a teammate, you are responsible for 24 other guys. This name at the front is much more important than the name at the back of this jersey. You can’t do this.
“We are trying to do something and do something special here, and personal things should be put on the backstil. You just can’t drop your team like that.”
Snitker also withdrew the former voltiseur of the Braves Ender Inciarte from a July 2018 match against Milwaukee after Inciarte failed to run hard on a pop-up which was abandoned by the fifth round stop with Atlanta following 5-0.
And Snitker deleted the current braves designated the Marcell Ozuna striker from a June 2023 match against Arizona after Ozuna got up and watched the flight of a 415 -foot fly ball that he thought was a circuit. He struck the top of the wall, and Ozuna holds only one.
“They are all different,” said Snitker about these incidents. “All the situations where they occur, they are all different. And I approached it with Jarred.”
Pressed to explain the difference in incidents, Snitker said: “It’s just timing and everything.
We asked Snitker if he always had the impression that he did it in 2019, that he is unacceptable that a player was not running on such a game.
“Yeah, you don’t run and it’s a great moment (in the game) like that, yes,” he said. “But honestly, I’m not looking for (Kelenic) not to do that, because he plays with his hair on fire all the time and he is presenting himself (for fly balls). And I did not know it until I saw this morning. I went and watched him when I arrived here, then I had a discussion with him and we did it square.”
