Romelu Lukaku chats at Stamford Bridge as delighted Roma fans enthusiastically follow the robberies and celebrate ‘Rom-mania’

Romelu Lukaku’s long-awaited second departure from Chelsea appears to be close with the Roma board in London for negotiations.
Club chairman Dan Friedkin was spotted at Stamford Bridge for the Premier League clash against Luton Town, at a stadium where Blues chairman Todd Boehly was also present.

Managing director Tiago Pinto was also seen and spoke with Boehly in the belly of the bridge, according to reports in Italy.
Those conversations revolved around a loan move for Lukaku, who is desperate to leave west London after failing to agree terms with Inter Milan and Juventus.
The Belgian, who signed Chelsea’s record £97.5million in 2021, is set to leave on loan in the Italian capital.
Lukaku spent last season in Serie A on loan at Inter Milan, failing to impress on his return to Chelsea.

It was a similar story at Inter last season, who apparently gave up on signing the striker after his flirtations with fierce rivals Juventus.
Instead, it appears to be a third Italian side, Jose Mourinho’s Roma, who will land the striker, much to the delight of his fans.
Despite being Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer and a former Premier League revelation with Everton and West Brom, Lukaku is apparently unwanted at Chelsea.
Not so in Rome, with fans going crazy online, tracking flights to and from Rome and Farnborough Airport.

The most followed flight on Flightradar24.com was from Rome to Farnborough, with over 3,000 fans ensuring the club’s board travelled, as ‘Rom-mania’ began to trend on Twitter .
