No one said that Roki Sasaki’s transition to the major baseball league would be easy. In its second departure from the League and its first at Dodger Stadium, Sasaki walked four strikers and allowed two points, not having left the second round against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday (Gametracker). The young Los Angeles Dodgers needed 61 locations to record five withdrawals.
Sasaki made his debut at MLB earlier this month in his country of originIn the Tokyo series of two games against the Chicago Cubs. He also fought with his control in this match, walking five and launching more bullets (31) than strikes (25) in three rounds. Through two departures, Sasaki has nine goals on the league in 4 2/3 heats.
As was the case in Tokyo, Sasaki constantly missed the plate of the plate to the arm with his quick ball on Saturday. It is in right -handers and far from left -handers. He also rebounded too many separators in front of the plate. The Pitch Rental plot tells the story. Many of these locations are easy sockets for the striker:

As talented as him, Sasaki is only 23 years old – he is slightly older than most university launchers who will be drafted in July – and he adapts to a new culture in addition to all baseball things. Sasaki showed a very strong control during his time with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan, so the capacity to launch a strike is there. We have not yet seen it through two Grande League departures.
Sasaki’s quick ball was at 96.1 MPH on Saturday, a little from 100 MPH gas which he pumped during the Tokyo series earlier this month. It is understandable, however. Sasaki surely had a lot of adrenaline while launching in his country of origin and at his first start of MLB. It is also possible that he tried to remove a little on Saturday just to get the ball over the plate (even if it did not work).
Given his talent for rotation, we ranked Sasaki as the seventh best free agent available during the last off -season. Here is the writing:
Short hook: Explosive young right with matters of sustainability
Sasaki is the most talented launcher who is not already in an MLB organization. He has been on the global radar since he launched a perfect game of 19 strokes at 20 years in 2022. He combines the elite speed with a devastating oscillating separator / Fourkball. Sasaki has treated his share of injuries, limiting him to 33 departures combined in the past two seasons. Its gain potential is completely removed due to its classification of free amateur agents. Nevertheless, a fully updated sasaki has a chance to be an immediate impact starter in the majors.
Sasaki joined the Dodgers on a minor league contract with a signing bonus of $ 6.5 million in January. The MLB international signature rules have limited it to a minor league agreement rather than a massive contract with equality with that of Yoshinobu Yamamoto because it is under 25 years of age. The Padres of San Diego and Toronto Blue Jays were the other two finalists to sign it.
The Dodgers have won their first four games this season, which is the best start by a defending champion of World Series since the start of the 1985 Tigers. Los Angeles has so much talent on the list that they can let Sasaki work through growing pain and not sweat victories and losses. Obviously, the young man has a lot to improve, especially with his command.
