Roger Goodell avoids boos alongside Eminem at the 2024 NFL Draft by bringing host city Detroit’s favorite son to the stage alongside Lions greats Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson and Aidan Hutchinson

Roger Goodell deflected boos from the NFL Draft crowd in Detroit by bringing out his hometown’s favorite rapper, Eminem.

Goodell took the stage alone to the sounds of Eminem’s hit song “Not Afraid” and received his usual chorus of boos from the crowd.

However, the taunts quickly turned to jeers when the 51-year-old rapper appeared seconds later and sent the crowd wild.

Eminem thumped his chest and said, “Make some noise for the Detroit Lions, let’s go!”

The duo were then joined on stage by Lions legends Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders.

Current Lions stars Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Aidan Hutchinson also took the stage as Brown began encouraging the crowd to chant Goff’s name.

Eminem and Goodell’s joint entrance was directly preceded by a video intro featuring the two men, in which the rapper joked about the commissioner getting booed.

The Lions finished with their best record since 1991 last season with a 12-5 record and won the NFC North for the first time.

They ultimately fell in the NFC Championship Game to the 49ers.
