Rodeo star Spencer Wright asks fans to help boy in hospital room next to son Levi who is also fighting for his life

Rodeo star Spencer Wright has asked his fans to donate to the young boy in the hospital room next to his son Levi.

Three-year-old Taysen Baum suffers from a rare form of meningitis that has caused a blood infection known as sepsis.

Doctors said the infection affected the three-year-old boy’s brain, leading to blood clots, strokes and brain damage.

Taysen’s parents, like Levi’s, pray for a miracle that their boy survives. Both are being treated in the intensive care unit at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Last Tuesday, Levi nearly lost his life and suffered a traumatic brain injury when the toy tractor he was driving landed in a raging river near his home in Utah.

He was no longer responding when first aid arrived. He woke up from the coma, but continues to cling to life.

Levi’s mother, Kallie Wright, asked the community to “wrap Taysen in our arms” like they did her son to “help ease the financial burden his parents are also facing.”

“Taysens’ room was across the street from Levi’s when we got here,” Kallie wrote. “We were able to talk to his parents and share our stories. Going through this together makes you love family.”

Kallie posted a flyer on her Facebook page asking community members to “join the fight for courageous 3-year-old Tysen Baum.”

“What started as an ear infection on May 10th turned into a parent’s worst nightmare,” she wrote in part.

“The road ahead is still very unknown for this little boy. Please continue to share this incredible family’s story and send as many prayers as you can to bring your sweet boy home.

A GoFundMe has been created to help with Taysen’s recovery. As of Tuesday, more than $9,800 had been raised toward their $12,000 goal.

Levi was initially thought to be brain dead, but miraculously woke up from the coma. His devastated parents, Kallie and Spencer, were at their son’s bedside praying for a miracle.

Many community members organize fundraisers for their son. Saturday’s Roughstock Junior World Finals Desert Region Rodeo posted that each of the kids “I rode a little harder for Levi Wright.

Heartbreaking footage showed the young riders on one knee, bowing their heads with cowboy hats in hand for a moment of silence for little Levi.

“Each of the kids wore blue for Levi,” the post read. “They say it’s the first rodeo all season and every one of the young hardstock riders had a little more courage and tried.”

On the day of the ordeal, Kallie was outside watching her son play on his tractor-trailer and ran into the house to check on her 9-month-old.

In a split second, Levi had disappeared from sight. The distraught mother dove into the stream to search for her son in the raging river.

Levi’s devastated parents were preparing for the worst and said they planned to “stop treatment and keep him close until his last breath on earth.”

But miraculously, Levi woke up from the coma on Thursday evening, two days after he was initially expected not to survive.

‘LEVI WAKE UP! I’m shaken, we don’t know much but the doctor said I could get excited about it and I am! My baby is so hard!’ she says.

“He got a little wild so we had to rehome him but sweetheart!”

On Friday, they received the devastating news that an MRI gave a poor prognosis for the youngster.

On the advice of a new doctor, the parents were asked to give their son some time.

“We have time for a miracle!” “” the family wrote on Facebook after their son woke up.

“Levi’s heart is beating on its own, he wants to breathe but his adorable little brain has been without oxygen for too long and there’s no turning back,” an earlier update read.

Photos on social media show Kallie in her son’s hospital bed, cradling him in her arms, while his father stands nearby.

On Sunday, she wrote: “It’s an experience, I pray deep in my soul that you never have to know how I begin to do it.”

“It’s a roller coaster that you ride reluctantly and blindfolded, you don’t know what’s coming next.” You just have to wait and get through it. We take it day by day.

She shared the type of brain injury her son could suffer and the unknowns that lie ahead.

“The term ‘brain injury’ is very broad, there are different ranges and severities. No two brain injuries are the same, even if the accident is similar. No two brains recover or recover in the same way.

“There is a lot that medical professionals don’t know, but what they tell you is based on legitimate medical literature and history. »

Kallie expressed how grateful she was for her doctor’s advice, which she said “gave us the most precious time.” Something we almost didn’t have.

“Our doctor is simply exceptional and I believe with all of me that his heart is invested in him.

“Is this the time to see if God grants us a miracle or is it time for us to research, learn and process all of this in order to make the most informed decisions.

In the heartbreaking message, she continued to ask for prayers and “for the years to come.” ” She said: “I’m afraid we haven’t even reached the hardest part of this case.

“Every decision Levi’s father and I make will be based on what we, the two people who know him best, think he would want. In all of this, he comes first.

“We are exploring the therapies that have been mentioned, engaging with those that we think can help us and getting as many professional eyes on this topic as possible.”
