Rockstar team reaffirms GTA 6 release window in new post

Rockstar Games’ beloved open-world franchise is set to make its triumphant return with its upcoming sixth issue. However, the exact date when the game will see the light of day has not yet been officially revealed.

Instead, all fans know is what they were given at the end of the game’s first trailer (which was released over a year ago at this point), a nebulous exit window for 2025.

Rockstar seems confident in the release of GTA 6

According to a new post from Rockstar Games, the gaming giant remains confident in the GTA6 output window.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed a new LinkedIn post from Rockstar Games Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist Georgio Jankowski, where the employee seemed to insinuate that GTA6 is still planned for 2025.

In his promotion of vacant positions at the studio, Jankowski mentioned that 2025 is “which is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years” in Rockstar history:

“As 2025 kicks off and promises to be one of the most exciting years ahead here at Rockstar, it couldn’t be a better time to take a look at our open positions and consider applying.”

Jankowski’s post seems to indicate that (at least publicly) the game is still on track to release this year. This comes despite reports suggesting that RGT could have slipped to 2026.

For months, Rockstar itself has continually reaffirmed GTA6The release date of 2025, while – outside of the game’s first trailer – never outright stating that it’s this year. In August 2024, sources close to the celebrity revealed that he was still “(firmly targeting) fall 2025”, but it should be noted that there is always a possibility of delay.

Will GTA 6 be released in 2025?

Now that the calendar has reversed, the eyes of the video game industry are increasingly focused on GTA6 and its specific release date.

Rockstar’s latest open-world title is sure to make a splash whenever it releases, which means competing developers and publishers will likely be holding their breath to find out when the Grand Theft AutoA bomb-sized bomb will be dropped.

In Rockstar’s financial statements, the studio claimed that 2025 was the year of GTA6saying it without really saying it.

The video game giant has long predicted that 2025 will be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) years in the company’s history, telling shareholders in a 2024 note to expect “a little over $7 billion in net bookings” for the coming financial year:

“Right now, that number is just over $7 billion in net bookings for the year and taking into account the typical changes and adjustments that occur in our forecasting process. And that amount still represents huge growth over to this year. And our pipeline is revolutionary for next year and beyond, and our teams are making excellent progress in developing the game.

Since that memo, Rockstar Games executives, as well as its parent company Take Two, have continued to tout that $7 billion figure. If they maintain this level of confidence, it seems likely that the game will be released in 2025.

However, assuming a second trailer is on the way (which would break a RGT franchise record when it does), perhaps fans will find out more details about the release imminently – especially if it still comes out in the next 12 months.
