Rochester, NH Man seriously injured in hit and run;  Police are looking for a suspect – CBS Boston

ROCHESTER, NH (CBS) – A woman in Rochester, New Hampshire, is desperate to locate the driver who struck her husband and then took off. Mat Lefebvre was seriously injured on Monday.

“It’s bad enough,” said Nicole Lefebvre, Matt’s wife. “It’s awful that you can’t recognize her husband.”

She was brought to tears as she described the hit and run that sent Mat to the hospital. He is currently unable to walk or stand.

“He had swelling in his spinal cord. He had 25 staples placed in his head, ”Nicole said.

The father of three was away for work Monday morning in Rochester when he was hit by a car.

“He was sure the person would get out of the car and help him out at that point, but instead he heard them press the accelerator again, roll over on him, and then he got stuck. under the car dragged down the main street. And it was falling over and over again, under the car, ”Nicole said.

Mat screamed throughout the ordeal and could see the vehicle as it drove away.

“The victim described to us right now that it was a darker colored SUV, possibly blue,” Rochester Police Captain Todd Pinkham said.

Lefebvre, an experienced runner, broke nine ribs and a leg. He also suffered a punctured lung among other injuries.

“It’s horrible to even think that there are people who are capable of something like this,” said Kimberly Lefebvre, Mat’s aunt.

She set up a GoFundMe which raised over $ 30,000 to help her recover. His family and the police ask the driver to do the right thing.

“I want them to come forward so my husband can rest, so he can finally feel he has justice,” Nicole said.
