Jason Robertson is from one week to the other for Dallas stars with a lower body injury and will not play when they start their first round series of the West Conference against the Colorado avalanche on Saturday (8:30 pm HE; TNT, Max, Trutv, SN360, SN, VAT, Victory +, Alt).
The striker left a 5-1 defeat against Nashville predators on Wednesday after a safe blow of Nashville striker Michael McCarron in the second period and did not return.
“I think the next man is this time of year,” said stars coach Pete Deboer on Friday. “We are not going to be the only team to start without someone or to lose someone at some point. It’s playoffs. You just have to keep moving forward.”
Robertson finished the regular regular season on the stars in points (80) and assists (45) and led them with 35 goals in 82 games.
The stars (50-26-6), which finished second in the central division, will have a home advantage against the avalanche, and Deboer did not rule on Robertson for the entire Best-Of-7 series.
Match 2 will be in Dallas on Monday and matches 3 and 4 in Colorado on Wednesday and Saturday April 26.
“If the series spends more than a week, then yes,” said DEBOER, on Robertson’s potential return.
In the absence of Robertson, Mikael Granlund went to the upper line with Roope Hintz and Evgenii Dadonov in training on Friday.
“This is what makes us so good, it’s our depth,” said striker Wyatt Johnston. “You cannot replace some of the guys we have missed, and (Dress is) not a guy you can replace. But we have so many players who can help fulfill this role and help play games and mark like doing the` Robo ”.
Tyler Seguin striker played on Wednesday after missing 58 games after hip surgery, and defender Miro Heiskanen has not played since January 28 due to a knee injury
“Our team was good all year round,” said Seguin. “The last years really with our depth. This is what the qualifiers are used for. These are different guys who intensify at different times and anyone who is in the programming that makes a difference. You need 25, 30 players, maybe even more, when you go deep. It takes a few months and everyone will be ready.”
Dallas, who has advanced to the final of the western conference of each of the last two seasons, beat Colorado in six games in the second round last season. Robertson collected seven assists in the series.
“(Robertson) knocks the washer in the net for us, or creates an offense for us,” said Deboer. “I think we have more creativity in our depth than perhaps last year. Last year, we probably had more heaviness, specialty, confrontations, PK. I am thinking of (Radek Faksa) and guys like that. This year, we have more depth. We are probably better able to absorb this in this position than probably others.”
Selected by Dallas in the second round (n ° 39) of the NHL 2017 NHL recovery, Robertson has 394 points (168 goals, 226 assists) in 374 regular season games and 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists) in 45 playoffs.
“When (Robertson) is underway, we have three first lines and our fourth line is more like a third,” said striker Matt Duchene, who was third in the team in goals during the regular season with 30. “Our fourth line CE.
