Robert de Niro, 81, has seven children who go from 2 to 53 years.
Her daughter, Airyn de Niro, announced that she was transgender in April 2025.
She is also a grandfather. His 19-year-old grandson, Leandro by Niro Rodriguez, died in 2023.
Robert de Niro said that his transgender daughter had his “love and support” following his decision to speak publicly about his transition.
Airyn de Niro, 29, was released Tuesday as a trans woman in an interview with LGBTQ + publish them.
The next day, from Niro expressed his “love and his support” for her in a declaration shared with Variety.
“I loved and supported Aaron as my son, and now I like and I support Amyn as my daughter,” he said.
“I don’t know what the big problem is. I love all my children.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada in 2023, during which he revealed that he had become a father for the seventh time, from Niro explained how he parents of his children. He said he is preparing the border between being “loving” and “stern”.
“There is no way to get around this with children,” said the Oscar -winning actor. “I don’t like having to establish the law and things like that. But, you have no choice.”
“Any parent, I think, said the same thing,” he said. “You always want to do the right thing by children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you cannot.”

Drena de Niro is Robert de Niro’s eldest daughter.

Drena de Niro, born September 3, 1971, is the oldest of De Niro’s children. She is not her biological daughter but was adopted by the actor at the age of 5 after marrying her mother, Diahnne Abbott, in 1976. She then took her family name.
Drena began her career as a model before stamping in the DJ and the fashion advice. At 25, she made her acting as an actor in the 1996 film “Grace of My Heart”. She has since played in “Joy”, “Hands of Stone” and “A Star Is Born”, the last of which also played her late son Leandro by Niro Rodriguez.
Drena made Niro a grandfather when she and her then boyfriend, Carlos Rodriguez welcomed their son in 2003.
In July 2023, Drena announced that Leandro died at the age of 19. His death was deemed the result of the toxic effects of a combination of drugs, said New York Legalist.
Raphael Eugene de Niro is the oldest biological child in the actor.

Raphael did not continue a career in Hollywood, but as a broker in the luxury real estate company Douglas Elliman, he helped stars like Renée Zellweger and Kelly Ripa to find their dream houses in Manhattan. According to his website, in 2004, he founded the Niro team within the company.
Between 2008 and 2020, he was married to Claudine de Matos and welcomed three children together, by page six.
Niro Alyn was released as a transgender in 2025.

After his divorce from Abbott, from Niro began to go out with Toukie Smith, a model and actor who appeared in “Miami Vice”, in 1988.
On October 20, 1995, the couple welcomed twins who were designed by in vitro fertilization and delivered by a substitution mother. The couple separated the following year.
Alyn de Niro spoke of “entering this new identity” in an interview with LGBTQ + publish them.
She said she had women from college and started hormone therapy in November 2024.
She said that she felt like a little “late flowering” to kiss her trans identity.
“Trans women are honest and open, especially (in) public spaces like social media and see them in their success … I am like, what do you know? Maybe it is not too late for me.”
As for being raised by famous parents, she added: “No parent is perfect, but I am grateful that my two parents agreed to keep me out of the spotlight.”
Julian Henry de Niro is the twin brother of Airyn. He pursued an acting career.

Julian Henry de Niro, the twin brother of Airyn, was also born on October 20, 1995.
Julian continued a career in the theater and made his debut in the 2016 film “in Dubious Battle”, alongside James Franco and Selena Gomez. In 2022, he portrayed a young Barack Obama in the showtime anthology television series, “The First Dame”.
In 2023, he played in “The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window” on Broadway alongside Rachel Brosnahan and Oscar Isaac.

In 1997, from Niro married the American worldly Grace Hightower. They welcomed their son, Elliot de Niro, a year later on March 18, 1998.
De Niro shared the diagnosis of Elliot’s autism in 2016 while pleading for the inclusion of the documentary “Vaxxed” at the Tribeca Film Festival, of which he is co-founder.
“Grace and I have an autistic child and we think it is essential that all the questions surrounding the causes of autism are openly discussed and examined,” he said at the time, people reported.
Elliot is known for his tennis skills. He participated in the special Olympic Games, the largest global sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disability. In 2018, it was presented in the series “Special Olympics: 50 Game Changers” by ESPN.
Helen Grace de Niro was previously the youngest child in Niro.

From Niro and Hightower initially divided in 1999, a year after the birth of Elliot, and engaged in a dispute in terms of care about it.
Their divorce was not finalized, and in 2004, they renewed their wishes for marriage, people reported. On December 23, 2011, their second child together, a girl named Helen Grace de Niro, was born by substitution.
De Niro and Hightower separated again in November 2018. In 2021, it was reported that their divorce procedure was still in progress.
Gia Virginia Chen-de Niro is the last addition to the family.
