Trump adviser accuses Biden campaign of ‘weaponizing the justice system’ during courthouse press conference

A few minutes after Joe BidenThe surrogate mothers concluded their press conference in front of the courthouse where final arguments are being heard at Donald TrumpThe secret trial of the president’s former adviser Jason Miller appeared before journalists.

“The Biden people finally did it. After months of saying politics had nothing to do with this trial, they showed up and made a day-long trial for President Trump in Lower Manhattan a campaign event,” Miller said.

He continued:

In fact, Biden’s cronies had printed a campaign sign saying “Biden-Harris.” So why this change? Why is Joe Biden now making this a campaign event after months of weaponizing the justice system against President Trump? Because Joe Biden’s numbers are in the tank. Today’s headline from Politico said very simply: “Democrats are panicking over Joe Biden.” Joe Biden is losing nationally, losing in every battleground state, and the President Trump count continues to rise, and the best Biden can do is deploy a failed actor.

Next up was Harry Dunn, a former Capitol Police officer.

He referenced his campaign for Congress representing a Maryland district, which ended last week when he lost the Democratic primary.

“A lot of people I met there said they were scared. They are afraid to see what another Trump presidency will look like. I try to pride myself on having a way to make people feel at ease, by saying a word, a hug, a look or something like that, everything will be okay. I couldn’t say that to these people. I can’t say everything will be okay,” Dunn said.

“We cannot count on these institutions to stop Donald Trump. We Americans will have to go to the polls to defeat him once and for all.”

Michael Fanone, a former Washington DC police officer, told the story of his January 6 assault on the Capitol and accused Donald Trump of instigating it.

“I am just one representative of the hundreds of police officers who were attacked that day by supporters of Donald Trump, inspired by his lies, the lies that continue to inspire my fellow Americans to this day, to turn against their fellow Americans, to turn against them against the police,” Fanone said.

“Ultimately, this election is about Donald Trump and his vision of being president of the United States, not as a public servant who answers to the elected officials, to the people who elected him, but as an authoritarian man . , who only responds to and serves himself.

“They stood there and fought for us, for you, for you,” the actor continued, referring to Dunn and Fanone. “No, no, they fought for you, buddy. You can stand here now. They are the real heroes.

The actor nevertheless maintained his denunciation of the former president.

“If Trump returns to the White House, you can say goodbye to those freedoms we all take for granted. And the elections? Forget that. It’s over, it’s done. If he comes in, I can tell you right now, he’ll never leave. He will never go away,” De Niro said.

De Niro warns Trump could ‘destroy the world’ if elected

Robert De Niro is from New York and likened Donald Trump to the kind of clown tolerated in the city, but who has no place in the White House.

“Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but also the country and, ultimately, he could destroy the world,” warned the actor.

He continued:

This city is pretty accommodating. We make room for clowns. We have them all over the city. We tolerate people who do crazy things in the street. It’s part of the city, it’s part of the culture, but not of a person like Trump who will end up running the country. It doesn’t work, and we all know it.

As the actor spoke, protesters could be heard yelling in the background and chanting “fuck Joe Biden.”

Washington DC Police Officer Daniel Hodges and former Capitol Police officers Harry Dunn And Aquilin Gonell will make their first appearance on behalf of the campaign in Arizona, the Arizona Republic reports.

“If I can tell this story a million times, I will. If I can do it, I’ll just do my part to save democracy,” Dunn told CNN in an interview. The former officer ran for Congress in Maryland as a Democrat, but lost his primary last week:

I just got off the phone with Senator Elfreth to congratulate her on her hard-earned victory. I look forward to making sure we send Senator Elfreth to Congress this November.

Even though tonight’s results may not have gone the way we hoped, all I can feel right now is gratitude.…

Democrats’ concern over Biden’s chances rises after Trump gains fundraising edge – report

The latest development rattling Democrats is the fundraising advantage that Donald Trump conquered Joe Biden last month, Politico reports.

The former president’s fundraising last month was $25 million higher than Biden’s, Politico reports, although the Democrat maintains his cash flow advantage. The story is also replete with alarming quotes from anonymous Democratic insiders warning that Biden is in a much weaker position than he should be, especially given the stakes in this election.

According to a Democratic operative Politico describes as being in contact with the White House:

It’s not about saying, “Oh my God, Mitt Romney could become president.” It’s “Oh my God, democracy could end.” »

And a Democratic advisor:

The list of reasons we “could” win is so small that I don’t even need to keep it on my phone.

The response from the Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz:

The work we do every day on the ground and on the airwaves in our battleground states – to talk about how President Biden is fighting for the middle class against the corporate greed that keeps prices high, and put highlighting Donald Trump’s anti-American campaign of revenge and retaliation and banning abortion – this is the work that will secure us the White House again.

Biden is enlisting police officers on January 6 to campaign in key states amid reports of a Democratic “panic” following poor polling.

Hello, readers of the American political blog. With less than six months until the November 5 presidential election, Politico published another report that Democrats are nervous about Joe Bidenhas a chance of being re-elected against Donald Trump. That the president is unpopular, and has been for a year, is old news, but his allies have more recently been rattled by successive waves of polls showing him trailing Trump in most of the key states he will need to win. Citing unnamed sources, Politico reports that some Democrats are in “panic” mode about Biden’s chances, with the president facing lingering public concerns over his handling of issues as varied as inflation, immigration and relative unpopularity of his running mate. Kamala Harris.

The Biden campaign has many cards up its sleeve, including reminding voters of the violence at the Capitol on January 6 and Trump’s role in inciting it. Three police officers who fought insurrectionists will soon hit the road to campaign for Biden in battleground states and warn voters that Trump would pose a threat to the nation’s democracy if he returned to the White House.

Here’s what else is happening:

  • The big news of the day It’s happening in New York, where closing arguments in Trump’s trade fraud trial are scheduled. Follow our live blog to find out more.
