Robert De Niro was photographed working on the Netflix limited series Zero Day in his hometown of New York on Tuesday.
The two-time Oscar winner, 80, was dressed in a navy blazer over a blue plaid button-down shirt with a diagonal-striped navy tie, as he held files in his hand.
De Niro, who welcomed daughter Gia Virginia last year with his girlfriend, martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen, 45, completed his ensemble with khaki pants and black-rimmed glasses.
The actor stars as former President George Mullen in the six-episode limited series, in which his costars include Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Connie Britton, Gaby Hoffmann, Lizzy Caplan and Matthew Modine, the streaming service announced in December.
A logline from the series reads: “Zero Day asks the question on everyone’s mind: How do we find the truth in a world in crisis, seemingly torn apart by forces beyond our control?” And in an age of conspiracy theories and subterfuge, to what extent are these forces the product of our own actions, perhaps even our own imaginations?

De Niro was nominated last month for best supporting actor for his portrayal of William Hale in Killers of the Flower Moon, but lost the honors to Robert Downey Jr.
De Niro previously won Academy Awards for his work in The Godfather Part II in 1974 and Raging Bull in the 1980s, and was also nominated for his work in The Irishman, Silver Linings Playbook, Cape Fear, Awakenings, The Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver.
Among his other notable non-nominated film performances are Goodfellas, The King of Comedy, The Untouchables and A Bronx Tale.
The actor has always been outspoken on political issues close to his heart and has spoken out in recent years about presumptive Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump.
Appearing last month on Real Time with Bill Maher, De Niro said the 2024 presidential election presents potentially extreme outcomes for voters.
“We want to live in a world in which we want to live and enjoy life, or live in a nightmare? » said De Niro. “Vote for Trump and you will live a nightmare, vote for Biden and we will return to normal.”
“I just don’t want to feel the way I felt for the many months after the 2016 election, where we couldn’t believe this happened.”
De Niro condemned Trump as a “total monster” and “a mean, nasty, hateful person.”

He said he didn’t understand how the controversial television personality turned politician could maintain his loyalty to his base.
“I don’t understand, I guess they are behind this kind of logic, they want to fuck with people, fuck them because they are not happy with something,” he said.
And despite reprising roles covering questionable fictional characters such as Travis Bickle and Max Cady, as well as the late fraud boss Bernie Madoff, De Niro said he would “never” be up to the task of playing Trump, as he “can”. I don’t see anything good in him.

De Niro added of President Joe Biden: “At the end of the day, Biden is our guy. He represents what this country is supposed to be.
While chatting with Maher, the iconic actor said he doesn’t mind having a busy schedule at 80 years old.
“I’m very busy – I enjoy it – I don’t mind it,” De Niro said. “I keep going because I know if you don’t keep going, you’re going to atrophy and you’re going to dry up and I don’t want to do that. So I just try to stay as busy as possible.
De Niro’s iMDb page lists six current projects he is working on, in various stages of production. They include the films Tin Soldier, Alto Knights and After Exile, the television projects Zero Day and Mr. Natural, as well as an untitled project.
