A good friendship overcomes all things.
“He is always sunny in Philadelphia”, Rob Mcelhenney, spoke of his tight link with Ryan Reynolds and how he supports his co-star “Welcome to Wrexham” and Blake Lively in their legal quarrel with Justin Baldoni.
Tackling the controversy with a variety in a joint interview with his wife, actress Kaitlin Olson, Mcelhenney said they were doing their best to support their friends during this “difficult and difficult” period.
In November 2020, Mcelhenney and Reynolds bought the Wrexham AFC in difficulty, a Welsh professional football team in the United Kingdom.
In three years, football enthusiasts have transformed the English football league team into a successful story, winning several promotions and a huge victory last month which sent him to the EFL championship.
Wrexham AFC is just a step of the coveted Premier League, a shock for all. Not only have Mcelhenney and Reynolds brought love to the team, but the boys also helped to relaunch the local community.
The purchase of the team also opened another door to Mcelhenney and Reynolds, the pair documenting the growth process of the football empire in their FX documentary “Bienvenue à Wrexham”.
The series, which was created in August 2022, is currently broadcasting its fourth season and earned them two Emmys.
MCELHENNEY’s love for his friend Reynolds is in depth, and he shared that this had not changed despite the current legal battle in progress.
“It’s just our way of staying connected and navigating something together,” he told Variety about lending support to the actor “Deadpool” and Lively. “And also I give and show as much support as possible with all the other things he has, that I know is so difficult and stimulating.”
Emotional assistance does not stop with MCELHENNY.
“We are both trying to offer our support in any way that we cannot just add oxygen to fire,” added Mcelhenney, including his co-star that has become “always sunny” in the conversation.
Lively has been in a legal war with Baldoni since December of last year, when she continued him and said he had sexually harassed her on the set of “this ends with us”.
He denied the accusations and trained Reynolds in the battle by contravening the couple for $ 400 million.
Baldoni – who was the director and the love interest of Lively for the film – continues an alleged civil extortion, a defamation, a false invasion of private life, a violation of the implicit alliance in good faith and fair negotiation, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage and negligent interference 179 years old obtained by the post.
In his complaint, Baldoni also claimed that Reynolds and Taylor Swift would have put him on the emblematic scene on the roof of the film, noting a central meeting in Lively and Nyc Penthe de Ryan for which he alleged that the actor and the singer of Superstar were present.
Baldoni also deposited alleged SMS that he said that Lively had sent after the meeting, in which she would have called her husband and Swift “My Dragons” while referring to herself as Khaleesi of “Game of Thrones”.
The couple also denied the accusations.
The singer of “Bad Blood”, who is the godmother of the children of Lively and Reynolds, was recently assigned to appear as a witness to the Baldoni legal team, which would have led her to pump his brakes on her friendship with the actress “another simple favor”.
“Their friendship stopped,” said a source to people on May 15, adding: “Taylor does not want to participate in this drama.”
In response to the assignment, a Swift representative said to the post: “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this film, she was not involved in any casting or creation decision, she did not score the film, she has never seen any modification or did not take any note on the film, she did not even see it` It ends with us ” 2023 and 2024.
The Baldoni and Lively trial was scheduled for March 2026.
