Rivian Automotive, based in Irvine, said that it would now sell its electrical delivery van designed for Amazon.com to other customers, a decision to increase the income of fleet operators, demand from consumers of cars powered by battery slows down.
The commercial vehicle of the electric vehicle manufacturer can now be purchased by any size fleets, the company said in a statement on Monday. Rivian mainly produced the Amazon van as part of an exclusivity agreement that expired at the end of 2023. Deliveries should start in the second quarter, said a spokesperson for Rivian.
