Rising racing star Lindsay Brewer says she was slammed by female drivers for social media posts in swimsuits

Lindsay Brewer is one of the most popular racing drivers on social media, with over 2.1 million followers on Instagram and over 629,000 on TikTok.

Brewer is currently competing in the 2000 USF Pro Championships with dreams of eventually making it to IndyCar. But even before hitting the Indy track, she told the Daily Mail in an interview published on Sunday that she had already heard the negativity from racing drivers about her social media activity.

The 26-year-old driver said she reached out to other professional female drivers and was surprised to hear some of the advice they gave her.

“I’ve talked to a few older female drivers in the past and asked for advice. …and they were like, ‘Stop posting swimsuit pictures, it makes women so bad in the industry. ‘” she told the outlet.

“If you’re really about feminism and women in the industry, you should allow them to be who they want to be and not put them in that box. Like you shouldn’t be saying, ‘OK, you can’t you don’t wear makeup, you have to dress a certain way, you can’t post certain things.

“I think that’s honestly anti-feminist.”

Brewer dismissed the idea that she was just an “influencer posing as a racing driver.” She said she got her start on the go-kart track when she was 11 years old. She said running was something she was passionate about and was able to take a few years off for college and start a brand to help fund her runs.

Brewer finished 15th in the standings last season and is 19th so far this season. She said some of the negativity has gone and vowed never to change who she is or how she makes herself known on social media.

“I’ll still have my bleached hair, I’ll still have my fake nails, but yet I can still be a bada– driver. I don’t want to be categorized. I can still take care of myself and look ‘glamorous’ and girly, but always be quick on the runway,” added Brewer.
