The legend of Man United, Rio Ferdinand, provided Ruben Amorim with a list of four -star races that he should target this summer.
The Red Devils desperately need to overhaul after a miserable season which started under Erik Ten Hag and should finish under Amorim.
The DRAB draw of Manchester Derby on Sunday with Rivals City leaves the 13th club in the Premier League table and all the other competitions outside the Europa League.
Ferdinand, who won six first league titles at Old Trafford, is desperate that his former team competes again for the trophies and has listed players who, according to him, can help bring Man United back on the right track.
“I agree with Gary Neville that they need five players, I think they need four or five players, but they will be forced by (the rules of profit and sustainability),” he said in his Rio Ferdinand indicator.
“ I want a central midfielder to play alongside (manual) Ugarte, this player must be able to take the ball and transfer it to Bruno (Fernandes) and the attackers. And you know who I would go? Adam Wharton.
Rio Ferdinand exhibited his transfer plans to bring Man United back on the track next season
Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton seems to have put his misfortunes behind him behind him
It was a difficult season for Ruben Amorim who hopes that he can shape the team this summer
Wharton, 21, was a revelation at Crystal Palace after joining last year, coming to life in the Premier League after his move of 22.5 million pounds sterling in the Blackburn championship.
The form of Wharton was so impressive that he forced his name in the plans of the former boss of England Gareth Southgate before the euros, making his debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina last June before being appointed to his final team for the last summer tournament in Germany.
Wharton brought back on three lions with an injury and was able to play through pain until October, when the pain of his hip and groin became unmanageable and required surgery.
He has been followed by Real Madrid scouts since his return to first team action in February and seems to have put his injury problems behind him.
Ferdinand then turned his attention to a center forward where Man United probably has his biggest problem.
The Red Devils only scored 37 goals in the Premier League this season, less than Tottenham (58) and Wolves (43) who are sitting below them.
And striker of 72 million pounds Sterling Rasmus Hojlund lasted 10 p.m. and 19 minutes aimed before finding the back of the net during the 3-0 victory last month in Leicester.
“We need (Victor) Osimhen,” said Ferdinand.
Victor Osimhen scored 26 goals on loan from the Turkish giants Galatasaray this season
Rasmus Hojlund has endured a dryness of more than 10 p.m. before scoring Leicester
Osimhen, 26, scored 31 goals in all competitions when he pulled Napoli as serie last year
“We need experience. We need someone who knows how to mark. We need someone who can come to show these young attackers at Man United How to do it.
“If I am Man United, I do it. I want someone who knows his way around the field at an elite level and knows how to regularly mark at the level of the elite. Osimhen did this.
Osimhen, 26, scored 31 goals in all competitions when he pulled Napoli for a first series of Serie A in 33 years during the 2022-23 season.
The Nigerian followed this with 17 other last season and this campaign, he obtained 26 on loan in Galatasaray, which fled with the Turkish League.
Osimhen has a liberation clause of 63 million pounds sterling, but Man United would probably face a contest of faeces to win him with reports in Italy saying that Arsenal, Juventus, Barcelona and Galatasaray are all interested.
For his third target, Ferdinand looked closer to his home.
“Another I would buy is cunha. He clearly indicated that he wanted to leave for me to take Cunha.
Although the star of Wolves Matheus Cunha signed a new four and a half years contract in February, he has indeed made ambigral comments on his future.
Matheus Cunha signed a new agreement at Wolves in February but suggested that he wanted to leave
Rio Ferdinand thinks that Jeremie Frimpong would be an upgrade of Man United in the right back
Diogo Dalot is currently playing in this position at Old Trafford but the Portuguese have not convinced
Last month, he put the contenders on alert when he told the Guardian that he wanted to “go to the next stage” and fight for the titles.
The Brazilian has gone to social networks to say that he meant that he wanted to help wolves on another level, but his ambition will have been noted.
The last area that Ferdinand believes that Morim must watch is back.
Diogo Dalot held this position for Man United this season, but has failed to convince fans that he is the long -term answer.
“Do you know who else I was going to get?” (Jeremie) Frimpong right behind, ” said Ferdinand.
Frimpong prospered in Bayer Leverkusen under the supervision of Xabi Alonso. The former Star Celtic is a product of the Man City Academy.
Liverpool was mentioned as potential contenders for Frimpong, although sources close to English leaders have played this.
