Ringside footage of Tyson Fury’s brutal uppercut knockout against Dillian Whyte revealed Fury’s heartfelt gesture after victory
Tyson Fury finished Dillian Whyte with a huge uppercut knockout at Wembley Stadium.
The Gypsy King delighted 94,000 fans with this punch, which saw his opponent topple backwards and fall to the canvas in April 2022.
Ringside footage shown at the time showed how quickly the uppercut was thrown – blink and you’ll miss it.
And it also showed the stunned look on Whyte’s face when the punch landed.
Fury then delivered a push to his off-balance foe that sent him to the canvas.
Remarkably, Whyte got back to his feet within the referee’s count.
However, his legs were unsteady and he stumbled as he tried to regain his balance.
Therefore, the referee called off the fight and Fury successfully defended his world title.
As Fury watched this unfold from across the ring, he waved his arms himself, indicating to the referee to stop the fight as he knew Whyte would not be able to continue safely.
The Gypsy King was relieved when the fight was effectively called off.
His first reaction was not to celebrate.
Instead, he walked over to Whyte, put his arm around him and placed a kiss on his head.
He then started partying and conducted a post-fight interview alongside Francis Ngannou, who he later fought.
Now, Fury is set to face Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world heavyweight titles on May 18.
