Rihanna’s cousin dies aged 28: Tanella Alleyne dies suddenly – six years after her brother Tavon was shot dead

Rihanna’s cousin, Tanella Alleyne, died suddenly, aged 28, just six years after her brother, Tavon, was shot dead on Christmas Day.

The superstar’s beloved parent, who had over 55,000 Instagram followers, tragically lost his twin sister when they were just 14 years old.

On Monday, Alleyne’s loved ones packed St George’s Parish Church to mourn his death.

According to Loop Barbados News, Rihanna’s powerful ballad Lift Me Up was played during the return service.

During the eulogy, Tanella’s adoptive mother, Julie-Ann Bryan, remembered Tanella as a woman who “lived a life of gratitude with an outrageous attitude, sprinkled with confidence.”

“There was something special about Nella,” she told those close to her. “She was bold and courageous. Our love for each other was on.

Gone Too Soon: Rihanna’s cousin Tanella Alleyne died suddenly, aged 28, just six years after her brother was shot dead on Christmas Day.

Rihanna previously announced the death of her cousin Tavon with a post shared on her Instagram account in 2017.

At the time, the singer wrote a message to let the public know her feelings about the tragic shooting.

She wrote, “RIP cousin…can’t believe I held you last night! I never thought this would be the last time I would feel the warmth of your body!!! I still love you man! #end gun violence.’

Tavon was murdered by an as-yet-unidentified gunman while walking in Lake Close, Eden Lodge, St. Michael, on Boxing Day.

The artist’s cousin was only 21 at the time and died after being taken to hospital.

Tavon had already spent Christmas with Rihanna and their family hours before her death.

It is not known if the singer’s relative was targeted or if the shooting was totally random.

Barbadian police then opened an investigation into the murder, but it is unclear whether the findings have been made public or to Alleyne’s family.
