“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Lisa Barlow has no regrets about wearing real fur.
“I’ve always been a fur fan,” she told Us Weekly at the Daily Front Row’s 11th annual Fashion Media Awards on Friday. “I know it’s very controversial, but I love wearing fur.”
The 49-year-old reality star added that if people “really did their homework” they would realise that fur clothing is sustainable.
“It’s really important for you to wear this instead of fake fur,” she said.
Both arguments have their pros and cons. While opponents of fur argue that there is nothing luxurious about skinning an animal for fashion, opponents argue that creating fake fur, which contains synthetic materials, is not beneficial for the environment.
Barlow has never hidden his affinity for fur, as his Instagram page is peppered with photographs that show the controversial material incorporated into his looks, whether it be via cuffs or a full jacket.
Additionally, she wore fur jackets to the 2023 and 2024 Sundance Film Festivals.
She told Us Weekly that her favorite way to wear fur is to take inspiration from Chanel and Versace looks from the ’90s.
Despite all the fur rumors, she didn’t wear any at the Annual Fashion Media Awards.
Instead, the Vida Tequila owner wore a black mesh bodysuit tucked into high-waisted leather pants. It’s unclear if her pants were genuine leather.
She wore a black headband to cover her chest and accessorized her look with a black belt. She added a touch of gold to her look with several rings and a bracelet.
Barlow’s hair was styled in a bun with a middle part and side bangs framing each side of her face for the event.
Aside from her shameless fur-wearing, Barlow recently turned heads when she shared a throwback photo with Ben Affleck amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
After fans questioned her motives, she posted an old photo with Lopez on X.
“I didn’t choose a side 💕💕💕,” she captioned the photo.
