RFK Jr. is ‘wrong’ about vaccinations, GOP senator says

Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was “wrong” on the issue of vaccinations.

President-elect Donald Trump nominated Kennedy to serve as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Cassidy, a gastroenterologist who currently serves Louisianans in the Senate, is the new chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

The senator, who indicated he looked forward to meeting with Kennedy next week, said he agreed with Kennedy on some issues but disagreed with him on others.

While Cassidy described ultra-processed foods as a problem, he said Kennedy was “wrong” about vaccinations.

Fox News Digital asked if Cassidy planned to vote against Kennedy’s confirmation to HHS because of the disagreement over vaccines.

“Cassidy does not discuss his votes prior to meetings with candidates and the conduct of the Senate process,” a Cassidy spokesperson said in a statement. “Cassidy explained that these are topics he wants to discuss with RFK Jr in his meeting with him this week and he looks forward to having a good dialogue with him.”
