- I tried all the donuts that I could find in Tim Hortons and classified them from the worst to the best.
- I did not like the donuts filled with vanilla that I tried and I thought they were too soft.
- My favorites included Canadian donuts of maple and Boston cream.
I became a fan of Tim Hortons after enjoying the boston cream donut of the chain. However, I realized that I had not tried many other offers from the brand.
So I decided to go to a location in Brooklyn to try all the flavors in stock. Here’s how I would classify them from the worst to the best.
Honey Cruler was my least preferred.
Ted Berg
The Cruler honey had a different shape from that of the other Tim Hortons donuts that I tried – a ring of swollen ridges covered with a sweet frosting. I hoped that it could make an interesting texture, but the donut was disappointing and ventilated inside.
The donut glaze ratio was also too high for me, which makes it very soft.
I was disappointed with the waste of apple.
Ted Berg
The description of this donut on the Tim Hortons website announces “delicious apples and cinnamon with each bite”. However, I did not taste the apple at all and I thought that cinnamon had no spice.
For me, it had tasted more than I expected something wrapped in plastic, like a Debbie snack cake.
The Oreo donut was too soft for me.
Ted Berg
The Tim Hortons Oreo variety is a donut filled with cream surmounted by vanilla frosting and Oreo strikes.
I love Oreos and I generally appreciate desserts on the theme of Oriéo. However, I thought that the vanilla frosting and the sweet cream of it made it too sweet.
The Oreo garnish was also collapsed so finely that it has not added any crunch.
I did not like the filling of the strawberry-vanille donut.
Ted Berg
It was the only donut filled with jelly that I found in Tim Hortons, and for this reason, it made a good change of rhythm. But again, the thick coating of vanilla frosting made the donut extremely sweet.
Although the jelly has a distinct strawberry flavor, the consistency was a bit strange – it was more a gel than a jelly.
My 7 year old child loves Jelly Donuts but called him “too sticky”.
Vanilla -soaked donut was the best varieties with vanilla frosting.
Ted Berg
You may notice a theme here – the donuts deposited by vanilla constitute most of the bottom of my list, because I found the coating thick and sweet as a detriment.
However, the dusty dust with vanilla was our favorite of those who have this frosting. Tim Hortons’ donuts are not as sweet as you expect, so the balance of flavors was better for it.
My 4-year-old child, a fan passionate about Rainbow Sprinkles, described him as his favorite.
I had better chocolate frozen donuts.
Ted Berg
I don’t like chocolate as much as many people, but I generally like chocolate frozen donuts. The version of Tim Hortons was not disappointing, but it was not very exciting either.
This donut had a very soft chocolate flavor and a thin layer of frosting. The aftertaste was a bit like a chocolate lollipop, which turned off my wife. However, I liked the way he joined forces with coffee.
Tim Hortons’ Vanilla cream donut had a little artificial.
Ted Berg
Confusedly, the Dit of Vanilla Crème de Tim Hortons is covered with chocolate frosting with a whirlwind of vanilla cream top on top.
I appreciate the Tim Horton Fudgy chocolate frosting, but he was not a big fan of the Vanilla cream garnish. I found it reminiscent of the twinkie garnish, only with a strong and somewhat artificial vanilla aroma.
The old -fashioned nature donut wanted to have a hint of nutmeg.
Ted Berg
Even if it is not the most exciting option in the window, an ordinary cake donut can be excellent when served with a cup of hot coffee.
However, this donut did not have such a fresh taste as some of the others I tried. It also lacked the crunchy exterior crust that you could find on other cake fritters.
However, he had a pleasant hint of nutmeg, giving him a more nuanced flavor than his equivalents of other donut chains.
The drenched donut donut was a pleasant surprise.
Ted Berg
Since I did not particularly like the Tim Hortons vanilla glaze, I feared that I feel in the same way as the maple version.
I am normally ambivalent about maple aromas, and the orange color of the unnatural appearance of the frosting has not inspired a lot of confidence.
However, I really enjoyed it. Maple icing had a hot and caramel richness, and although it was definitively sweet, it was also very tasty.
I was a little confused by the soaked donut with honey, but it was tasty.
Ted Berg
The honey dip is the standard yeast yeast donut of Tim Hortons in its simplest form: just a frosting without icing.
Despite his name, however, nothing in the flavor, the texture or the online description of the donut, or that suggested that he implied real honey.
Tim Hortons ‘yeast donuts seemed a little more dense than those of Dunkin’ (and much denser than those of Krispy Kreme), but it was pleasant and sweet.
My 4 year old child preferred him to one of the donuts that had no glitter.
The old -fashioned donut was a little more humid than its ordinary counterpart.
Ted Berg
I did not know if I would better like the icy version of the old -fashioned donut of Tim Hortons than the simple. Often, I find that adding an additional layer of sweetness does not improve something that is already soft.
But in this case, the old -fashioned donut was not extremely sweet in itself, and the frosting seemed to keep the donut a little more humid.
I loved the frosting on the soaked chocolate donut.
Ted Berg
Of the three frosty rings that I tried, the chocolate -soaked version was the only one where the frosting proved to be upgrade.
This is because Tim Hortons’ chocolate frosting is delicious. It has a thick and noisy texture and is rich in chocolate flavor.
I did not expect to love the donut with Canadian maple as much as I do.
Ted Berg
Tim Hortons’ Canadian donut is identical to its Boston cream, except with maple icing instead of chocolate. However, I liked it more than what I expected.
The softness of the mapping of the maple was well balanced by the garnish of pastry cream, which was surprisingly light and had a suspicion of espirance. I would not have guessed that he would land so close to my list.
Boston’s cream was my favorite.
Ted Berg
I already had the Boston cream donut from Tim Horton, but I didn’t know how it would compare to other offers in the channel.
I found that the density of Tim Hortons donuts makes them suitable for the garnish because they are strong enough to resist the weight without collapsing. And the combination of chocolate frosting and pastry cream is an attractive for a reason.
Surprisingly, it was the favorite for me, my wife and our 7 year old child.
