- I ranked the Houmous of Trader Joe’s, Costco, Whole Foods and Wegmans from the worst to the best.
- I thought that the biological houmous of Trader Joe could have used a pinch of lemon.
- Wegmans’ houmous garnished with garlic and chickpeas was by far my favorite dip.
Although houmous, a delicious dive or a propagation made from chickpeas, is available in almost all supermarkets, I wondered what is the best.
To find out, I bought Houmous from Whole Foods, Costco, Trader Joe’s and Wegmans and compared them.
I bought the most basic version available and I ate each dip with carrots and Bretzel chips. Here is how each distribution has stacked, from the worst to the best.
I started with the organic houmous of Trader Joe.
Ted Berg
For the good of this comparison, I chose the ordinary organic houmous to trader Joe on the Mediterranean style and roasted garlic options.
Of all the houmous that I tried, it looked in the most dry and least dynamic color.
I thought that the biological houmous of Trader Joe was mediocre.
Ted Berg
The houmous was not unpleasant, but the texture was floury rather than creamy. I thought there was too much cumin, and he needed a pinch of lemon.
Overall, it was good, but the flavor was not so exciting. I would buy it again if I needed Houmous and I was at Trader Joe, but I wouldn’t do my best to get it.
Kirkland’s signature Biological Roasted Pine Houmous was delicious.
Ted Berg
Costco sells signing houmous packets Kirkland the size of a snack, but I selected the variety of 34 ounce biological pine nuts for this comparison.
The Houmous bathtub was bordered by a layer of oil and garnished with pine nuts, herbs, garlic and roasted peppers.
I do not know if the houmous of the signing of Kirkland would appeal to everyone.
Ted Berg
Of all the brands of Houmous that I tried, this option has tasted the most bland without mixing in the garnishes. I also found that it was a bit grainy.
I thought that the mixture of trim in the houmous made it less appetizing, but the additional oil and the prominent red peppers improved the flavor.
I appreciated this houmous, but I could imagine that he was a divider. For example, I already knew that my children would not like him because of his red pepper flavor.
I would opt for a more traditional houmous if I served others.
Whole Foods’ 365 hummus was not too special.
Ted Berg
My whole local foods had a wide selection of houmous, including a 365 store store choice handle.
The original 365 houmous had a beautiful color, looked creamy and came without filling.
For me, the Houmous 365 was great.
Ted Berg
The 365 option was all that I could reasonably hope for in a grocery houmous. He was tasty and had the terror of the Tahini, distinct notes of Cumin and a velvety texture.
This houmous was good enough to buy again. In fact, I will not even care about other Whole Foods options.
Wegmans’ houmous came with a garnish of garlic and chickpeas.
Ted Berg
The Wegmans I visited offered an overwhelming selection of store brand Houmous, including pickle, Bagel and coriander in jalapeño options.
Although they all look delicious, I decided to stick to the simplest houmous for this taste test.
Wegmans’ houmous was my favorite.
Ted Berg
Wegmans’ houmous was a cup over the competition for the first bite. Even before mixing with the roasted-shaded garnish and chickpea, this houmous stands out for its humid and creamy texture and its brilliant agricultural flavor.
With the garlic mixed, it was undoubtedly the best houmous that I have ever found in a supermarket – and better than a lot of dips that I had in restaurants. I finished the container of Wegmans’ Houmous on the same day that I did this taste test.
My nearest Wegmans is at a 40 -minute bike ride, but I will make this trip again for this houmous.
