Jorge Bolana’s cause of death was revealed after the death of the former Colombia star at the age of 47.
The former World Cup star collapsed and died during the birthday party of a parent, according to the newspaper Bogota El Tiempo.
He was rushed into a neighboring clinic to try to save him but died later.
And it was reported that the former Parma star, Modena and Lecce had undergone a heart attack.
The tributes of his homeland and his country abroad flocked for Bolan after the news.
In a published statement, Colombian Football Federation wrote: “ With a deep sadness, we express our sincere condolences to the family and relatives of Jorge Eladio Bolano Correa, former Colombian national team player, professional football player and coach, who died this Sunday, April 6 in the city of Cucuta.

“The death of Bolano leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and admired him. His heritage as a footballer and coach will live in memory of Colombian sport.
“The FCF, in communion with the Executive Committee, led by President Ramon Jesurun, offers our prayers for his eternal rest and sends strength to his family during this period of sorrow.
Bolano won 36 selections for Colombia and was part of their 1998 World Cup team, but spent the majority of his career playing abroad in Italy.
He spent eight years in Parma, two of which saw loan spells in Sampdoria and Leece, and helped the club win the Coppa Italia 2002 – their last major honor to date.
His former teammate Gianluigi Buffon praised him as an “unforgettable friend and teammate”.
“Jorge was an unforgettable friend and teammate, a constant in an extraordinary champions locker room,” said his declaration.
“We have played and won together in the golden years of a large misk.
“On the ground, he fought without stopping and, out of the field, I remember with emotion with his kindness and his humanity which made him an example for everyone.

“We will always take you with us, rest in peace, my friend.
Parma also paid tribute to their former midfielder on social networks.
“Today, the set of Parma Calcio presents condolences to the family of Jorge Bolan, who died at 47, leaving an irreplaceable void.
“Goodbye, Jorge. Forever Gialloblu ” said Serie A.
