Despite the mourning of the loss of their son following a tragic off-road vehicle accident, one of the most prominent racing families in New Zealand decided to redirect all fundraising to emergency services.
Jimmy Schick, 10, died following the accident on May 11, while he had a hunting trip to the family’s succession near Cambridge, on the northern island of the country.
His father, Rodney, suffered critical injuries in the accident, but would be in a stable state.
Jimmy’s older brother Oli, 12, also suffered injuries, but would have recovered well in children’s service.
A third child, understood as a family friend, was also involved in the incident and was to be released from the hospital.
While they cry the death of Jimmy, the Schicks asked that all the money collected on the GIVE fund collection page has a little fundraising to be transmitted to the emergency services, which were the first on the scene after the accident.

The funds collected will be divided between the Cambridge Fire Brigade, Hato Hone St John and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust.
At the time of writing this document, more than $ 214,000 was collected from more than 1,800 generous donors.
Meanwhile, firefighters, Dennis Hunt believes that the six -seater mountain bike that the group was driving on its side during the deadly hunting trip.
The group was then transported by plane to the hospital for subsequent treatment.
“ In incredibly sad circumstances, the family is kindly asking for private life when they accept the devastating loss of their very loved Jimmy, ” said a Schick family spokesman in a statement published on Facebook.

“Rodney receives the best possible care of the dedicated team from the intensive care unit of the Waikato hospital and other updates will be shared as the information is available.

The Schick family is widely considered as a royalty in racing circles.
The family’s team, Windsor Park Stud, is also admired as one of the most respected reproductive organizations in the southern hemisphere.
They have raised some of the best horses in the company, including former Auguste Rodin, Paddington and Circus Maximus formed by Aidan O’Brien.
Jimmy attended the Kaipaki school in ōhaupō and was described by its director, Kim Budd and member of the Board of Directors, Lisette Balsom, as a “very loved student”.
In a statement published at stuff, they said: “Our thoughts go to their whānau during this period of deep loss, including with other members of the family who are injured.”
Racing NZ Woroughbed also published a statement transmitting its condolences to the family.
“Although we vigorously compete with each other, whatever the part of our industry, we are still the family of races,” the statement said.
“Our thoughts and prayers for you Jimmy, a temple of fame in the house of the Lord now.
