Nwaneri had the little enviable task of filling for Bukayo Saka while the winger recovers a serious injury to the hamstrings, but he has already proven himself on the biggest scene.

When asked if Nwaneri would be in Tuchel’s thought, Sturridge told Amazon Prime Video: “ I hope yes, and I hope he (nwaneri) arrives in the team because he was incredible.
“Sometimes, as a former player in England, and as experts, we put pressure on young players, but looking at him, is he ready? Does he show the qualities he deserves to be in and around him? I believe it.
Rooney added: “I think he is definitely (ready for his first call in England). In the past two years with England, we have seen players having an opportunity with England who has not deserved the opportunity.
“This is my opinion. I think Nwaneri, he shows that he has the temperament, the right attitude to be in this team. If he continues to do what he does, he will have a great chance.
