- Friday evening, Tommy Fury broke Kenan Hanjalic to bring his professional record to 11-0
- The 26 -year -old won by unanimous decision after six laps in Budapest
- Fury caught his Bosnian opponent with a low blow in the middle of the competition
Tommy Fury scored his return to the ring with a point victory in Budapest on Friday evening, but not without a touch of controversy that left Father John Fury without impression.
Fighting for the first time in 18 months, the former Love Island star made a unanimous decision on Kenan Hanjalic in Bosnia to extend his unbeaten record at 11-0.
It was far from being a vintage display, with an obvious annular rust and the fight often triggered while Fury worked through six laps which included more shots than clean punch.
The subject of major discussion came halfway from the competition when Fury won a shot that sent Hanjalic on the web. The reruns suggested that the punch had moved low. The referee allowed Hanjalic to recover before the fight resumed.
In the Ringside, John Fury could not hide his frustration and seemed to accuse Hanjalic of using the alleged low blow to his advantage by hanging the proposed recovery time.
He then offered a generally frank assessment of the incident using only five words: “He made an Oleksandr Usyk”.

Tommy Fury’s father, John Fury (photo), seemed to suggest that Hanjalic used the alleged low blow as an excuse to take a well necessary break during Friday fight
The remark referred to a controversial moment in the first fight of Oleksandr Usyk against Daniel Dubois in August 2023, when the Ukrainian was abandoned by a shot that Dubois and his team insist legal.
The referee disagreed, judging a low blow and giving usyk for almost four minutes to recover before winning the fight.
This remains a major subject of discussion while Usyk is preparing to face Dubois again this summer in a revenge match for the undisputed heavyweight championship at the Wembley stadium.
John Fury’s comment brought an additional weight given the murderous history of his family with the Usyk. Ukrainian Southpaw beat Tyson Fury twice in 2024. First by decision divided in May to claim the WBC belt and become undisputed heavyweight champion. Then, in December by unanimous decision in a revenge match.
These two defeats are rare imperfections on the professional record of Tyson Fury, which amounts to 34 victories, two defeats and a draw.
Meanwhile, Tommy Fury remains undefeated. However, he admitted openly after Friday’s fight that he had fought against serious personal problems outside the ring.
After having devoted victory to his long-term partner Molly-Mae Hague and their daughter Bambi, he said: “I went through things that demolish men.
“Drunk, alcoholic, I lost my family a little. But I turned things. I went from the bottom to the head of the world.
He also rekindled his quarrel with Jake Paul.
“Jake Paul is Ab *** H and he is afraid,” he said. “Jake, the hand is fixed now, baby. Next time, I will assist you.
