New Orleans-The quarter of the saints Derek Carr has a shoulder injury that could put its status for the 2025 Jeopardy season, according to several reports on Friday.
The saints are expected to start their interseison training program on Monday. The injury now calls the presence of Carr in question while the team begins its first 2025 preparations under the new coach Kellen Moore.
Carr has not played a game since he broke several bones in his hand without launch in a weekly match 14 against the New York Giants. He missed seven games in total in 2024 due to oblique and hand injuries, and the saints launched Spencer Rattle and Jake Haener in his place.
Carr treated for the last time with a shoulder injury in 2023 when he walked his AC joint at the start of the season, but he didn’t miss any game.
Carr stayed two years on the contract he signed in 2023, but a source told Jeremy Fowler d’Espn that he was open to testing the market earlier during the offseason. The saints ended up restructuring his contract instead, effectively endearing him from the team throughout the 2025 season.
The saints hold the ninth choice of the NFL draft this month and have four quarters on the list: Carr, Haener, Rattle and Ben Dinucci. They currently have about 27 million dollars in ceiling space if they wanted to sign another quarter.
