The Browns will assess the hamstrings of Dillon Gabriel on Saturday morning, but they are optimistic that the recruit will begin the pre-season match against the Eagles, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Gabriel set out his hamstrings on August 2 and returned to full participation in practice before this week.
The veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett and La Recruue SheDer Sanders will not play this week. Pickett did not return to team exercises when it comes back from an injury to the hamstrings, and Sanders is day by day with an oblique injury. Flacco, as a 17-year-old veteran, will not play in pre-season.
Sanders, who was injured in Wednesday’s joint training with the Eagles, could return to training next week and play in the pre-season final.
Tyler Huntley, who joined the Browns less than two weeks ago, is the only other quarter-back available to play this weekend.
